One Day Programme

One Day Programme

We start the day with calming and energizing Breathing Practices & Meditation. The kids love this exercise called ‘Wild Breathing’.

THE CHILDREN’S IMAGINATION ACADEMY (CIA) is New Zealand’s first one day programme dedicated entirely to Children’s Holistic Wellbeing and Creativity.

We are here to support local schools and families by focusing on individual needs of kids aged 6-12 years, and in doing so we support healthier communities.

We understand and support the emotional wellbeing of your extraordinary Child as they grow to be their greatest self. We do this through a carefully tailored and structured programme based on the foundations of wellbeing, creativity, nature and unity.

We align with New Zealand Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy, the Education Review Office (NZ) Good Wellbeing Practices’, and embrace the philosophy of Hauora and the four dimensions/pillars of wellbeing Te Whare Tapa Wha.
>>Taha hinengaro / mental health
>>Taha tinana / physical health
>>Taha wairua /
spiritual health
>> Taha whanau /
family health

CIA kids are encouraged to learn a variety of mind-body and self-care practices and implement the daily routines that work best for them.

We guide kids to explore their multi-faceted creative abilities through: our guest artist workshops, passion projects, games, group collaborations, nature experiences and unity initiatives.

CIA kids are supported in learning how to rest, recharge, reflect and be their own best friend and ally.

MONDAY is the day we have chosen to put Children’s Wellbeing at the forefront of each kid’s week. We also hope everyone has the greatest fun!

ADDITIONAL PARENT INFO:

As a social enterprise there is no direct link with Ministry Of Education guidelines. The New Zealand Education Act section 25B Release from school states: The principal of a State school may if satisfied that a student will receive outside the school tuition acceptable to the principal, release the student from attendance at the school, for a period or periods agreed with a parent of that student, to receive the tuition.
Our programme will give children a tool box of skills in self-regulation, emotional literacy, confidence and calming techniques that will be complementary to their classroom learning.
There are other one day programmes running throughout New Zealand, mostly bush/ nature schools or “gifted and talented” programmes.
One day “schools” are gaining in popularity. But we are excited to say that we are the first to focus on specific self care and well being topics.
Your Child’s health and safety is our priority.
Feel free to talk to our team about our programmes policies and procedures.
